Our Theory of Development

Our experience, learning, and reflection have led us to understand that poverty exists because people are:

  • Deprived of assets (human, capital, natural and social)
  • Excluded from their societies, and are invisible (lack of voice and the agency is weak or ineffective)
  • Experienced power differentials in their families, communities, societies, and across nations.
